No other Film institute is better than FTII, Pune.  The Film and Television institute of India is an autonomous educational institution working under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. The institute has contributed numerous professionals to the Film industry. Some of the notable persons studied in FTII are Adoor Gopalakrishnan, John Abraham, Om Puri, Shaji N. Karun and Mithun Chakraborty.

Admission: Every year the institute will invite application from the eligible on or before the second week of June. The institute is offering admission to the candidates only the basis of Entrance test, which is commonly known as ‘FTII Entrance Examination.’ The preliminary round comprises of written examination, which will be held at 24 centers in India. Those who are qualifying in the written exam will have to attend a 5-days long workshop which will be held at the FTII campus in Pune.

The Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata

As like FTII, The Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata (SRFTI) is also a national status attained Film and Television Institute runs by The Ministry of Broadcasting, Government of India. The institute named after the acclaimed film director, Satyajit Ray.  Every year the institute is inviting applications from the eligible candidates for the admissions to the various courses in Film studies on or before the second week of April. The admissions are offering to the candidates only on the basis of entrance exams conducted at the various campuses across the country.

As like FTII, the entrance exam of SRFTI is also the toughest one. Admissions are offered to those candidates who cleared the written and the interview secession conducted at the campus.

 SRFTI offering admissions three-year PG diploma courses in the following streams as given below.

  4. Producing for Film & Television

M.G.R Film and Television Institute Chennai

M.G.R Film Institute or Adyar Film Institute is one of the oldest film and Television Institute in India started by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1945. It’s the only one Government of Tamil Nadu undertaking film institute in Tamil Nadu. The institute is located at MGR Film City in CIT Campus, Tharamani, Chennai India. The application form will be issued in the second week of May every year.

There’s no entrance exam for admission to the various courses. Admissions are offering on every year on the basis of qualifying exam scores and counseling.

 National Institute of Designing- Ahmadabad

 Biju Pattanaik film & television institute Orissa (BPFTIO) is started by Government Odisha, with a mission to create skilled manpower in the field of television network and film production activities.
