About the Institute

The Government Film and Television Institute Bangalore (previously known as S.J.Polytechnic) known as the first Government Film Institute in India started film related technical courses. The organization is located in Hesaraghatta which is about 35 Km from the city. The campus sprawled around 25 acres approximately. Admissions to the various courses are inviting usually in the week of April or the first week of May on every year.

Seats Distribution

Admissions to the courses are offered on the basis of merit weightage. Out of total seats 50% seats are reserved for various groups (SC/ST, OBC.. etc) and rest of 50% seats are reserved for candidates in general category.
